Island Šipan in Croatia: a paradise vacation in a superb location
The Croatian island of Šipan belongs to the group of the Elaphite islands and is the largest of them. It is located seventeen kilometers from Dubrovnik: you can get there, for example, by your own or charted yacht, since regular navigation here is not developed, however, you can also get to Shipan by ferry. Šipan is separated from the shore by the Kolocep channel.

In addition to the cleanest sea, beautiful beaches and delightful landscapes, the island of Shipan is distinguished by a number of ancient churches of very interesting architecture. There are only two settlements, they are very small: they are Suđurađ and Šipanska Luka. Suđurađ is famous for its castle: it’s true that tourists can only look at the exterior. The Church of the Holy Spirit in the bastion and the Church of the Holy Trinity, towering above the village, are compulsory for visiting. Here you will find cozy hotels near the sea, and cozy restaurants and shops.
Sipan Luka, in turn, is famous for its very cozy quay, the villa of the family Sorkochevich, the church of St. Stjepan with the canvases of Venetian artists inside. Choose a place to relax and the island of Sipan will certainly please you with its hospitality.
