Iž island, Croatia: a perfect chioce

Iz Island is located in the Zadar archipelago, in spite of the fact that now this place is mainly touristy, the island was inhabited quite a long time ago: in prehistoric times. The main settlements are Veli-Iz, Mali-Iz and Makovac. You can get here by ferry from Zadar – this is the best option, and also by sailing on a yacht – own or rented. For yachtsmen this place is simply magnificent, there is a marina with all services, and true yachting lovers appreciate this place for a very convenient location: it can be included in many different sailing routes.
There is a very developed potter’s craft, and the island is located very close to another famous Croatian pearl – the Kornati national park. Among the sights, it is worth to visit the old church of Saints Peter and Paul, and other small churches.
Of course, to the island of Iz tourists come for truly magnificent small pebble beaches and the clearest water of the Adriatic Sea. The tourist infrastructure here is very well developed, therefore it is not difficult to find a villa, an apartment or a hotel room. In the towns there are shops, restaurants, cozy embankments and many beaches for every taste – from quite crowded to very secluded. Therefore, the island of Izh must be included in your sailing route!
